Meet Our Distinguished Board
Dr. Adam Mayerson, MD, Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale School of Medicine currently serves as Associate Chief of Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Medicine. He has 18 years of experience practicing Endocrinology and internal medicine. Adam has been named to Connecticut's list of top doctors.
Dr. Mei X. Wu, MD, PhD Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Harvard Medical School is a researcher at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wu completed her post-doctorate fellowship at MIT and Dana-Farber and has worked on photomedicines for more than 15 years. Her lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of near infrared lights on wound healing and anti-microbial activity of blue light in pre-clinical studies. Dr. Wu’s team has pioneered the use of infrared light to accelerate platelet regeneration. She is currently conducting a study funded by the Department of Defense on how to enhance human physical performance with infrared lights. The Wellman Center is the world’s leading academic research facility dedicated to investigating the effects of light on human biology and to the development of light-mediated, minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
Dr. Matthew Capozzi, DPM, FACFAS, CWS is a Board Certified foot surgeon through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Wound Management and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He completed a three-year residency program in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT in 2010. Dr. Capozzi is a board Certified Wound Specialist® granted by the American Academy of Wound Management. He is also Board Certified in Foot Surgery through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has a special interest in forefoot reconstructive surgery and diabetic wounds. He works weekly at the Advanced Wound Center at Salem Hospital treating complex foot wounds. Dr. Capozzi continually maintains his education in podiatry and podiatric surgery. Dr. Capozzi was the NSMC Department of Surgery 2014 and 2017 award winner for Clinical Excellence and Professionalism.
Kim Rose, RDN, CDCES, CNSC, is a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in diabetes-related health and wellness concerns for underserved populations. Her inclusive approach and philosophy revolve around “making nutrition easy and attainable”. Kim does this by addressing common and complex food and wellness topics for the general public and health professionals alike.Kim has a decade of professional experience and dedicates her time counseling clients in her private practice. Kim’s goal is to excite conversations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and she hopes to continue to address DEI issues through her work.
Kevin Wilk, PT, DPT has led a distinguished career as a clinical physical therapist for the past 33 years as a leading authority in rehabilitation of sports injuries and orthopedic lesions. He has been a significant contributor to laboratory research, biomechanical research and clinical outcome studies. Dr.Wilk has published over 200 articles and book chapters related to his field.
