We began Circufiber® in early 2019 with one goal: To make a difference in the lives of people living with diabetes. Each one of us at Circufiber has been touched by diabetes in some life-altering way. This mission is personal for all of us. Worldwide, one leg is amputated every 30 seconds due to advanced disease. As staggering as that statistic is, it doesn’t begin to capture the impact diabetes has on the families of those diagnosed. It doesn’t address the strain that diabetic care puts on our healthcare system. Or the economic impact of taking brilliant minds and creativity out of business and industry, forever limiting the contributions of so many people. We have been moved by seeing the destructive power of this disease, and we intend to change its trajectory by empowering the people who are wearing our products to take charge of their health— one pair of socks at a time.

Dr. Capozzi is a board-certified foot surgeon through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Wound Management and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He completed a three-year residency program in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT in 2010. Dr. Capozzi is a board-certified Wound Specialist® granted by the American Academy of Wound Management. He is also board-certified in Foot Surgery through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Mayerson currently serves as the Associate Chief of Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and as an Associate Professor at Yale School of Medicine. He has been practicing endocrinology and internal medicine for 20 years and has been consistently named to Connecticut’s Top Doctors list throughout his career. Dr. Mayerson received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed both his residency and fellowship at Yale. He is currently the lead investigator on Circufiber’s clinical trial at Yale studying the benefits of Infrared textiles on people living with diabetes.
Dr. Polun is a board-certified ankle and foot surgeon serving patients in the greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Dr. Polun is the founder and director of National Capital Foot & Ankle Center. He serves as a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is a member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Polun is consistently ranked among the top doctors in the greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area and has been named one of America’s best podiatrists by the Consumer Advisory Board.
Dr. Wu is a researcher at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. A native of Guangzhou, China, Dr. Wu completed her post-doctorate fellowship at MIT and Dana-Farber and has worked on photomedicines for more than 15 years. Her lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of near infrared lights on wound healing and anti-microbial activity of blue light in pre-clinical studies.
Ms. Kelly currently serves as Clinical Manager of Educational Services at Joslin Diabetes Center and is an accomplished Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Erin has over 10 years of experience as a diabetic educator as well as medical and surgical experience in orthopedics, public health, home health, school nursing and endocrinology. She is also a Certified Insulin Pump Trainer and member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES).
Ms. Rose is a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in diabetes-related health and wellness concerns for underserved populations. Her inclusive approach and philosophy revolve around “making nutrition easy and attainable”. Kim addresses common and complex food and wellness topics for the general public and health professionals alike. Kim has a decade of professional experience and dedicates her time counseling clients in her private practice.
Dr. Kevin Wilk has led a distinguished career as a clinical physical therapist for the past 33 years and is a leading authority in rehabilitation of sports injuries and orthopedic lesions. He has been a significant contributor to laboratory research, biomechanical research and clinical outcome studies, with over 200 published articles and book chapters.
